Andrea Stemle for Judge
My name is Andrea Stemle, and I’m running to be your Judge in Clark Circuit Court 6.
I’m a Southern Indiana native and long-time resident of Clark County. Today, I live in Clarksville with my husband, Cary, our dogs Booker and Zeppelin, and our cats Iris and Moonpie.
I’ve been privileged to practice law for nearly three decades in areas like bankruptcy and collections. After the pandemic, I returned to the familiar halls of the Clark County Courthouse, where I began my career as a deputy prosecuting attorney in the Child Support Enforcement Division. Today, I work as a staff attorney for the Office of the Clark County Public Defender. I’m also a state-licensed mediator in civil and family law.
I serve on the board of Friends of the Ohio River Greenway, and I have extensive volunteer experience with the Legal Aid Society of Louisville, which named me Volunteer of the Year in 2012, as well as The Center for Women and Families.
As a child, I was inspired by the example of my uncle Charlie Hendricks, who was born in very humble circumstances in Speed, Indiana near Sellersburg. Uncle Charlie was twice elected Indiana Secretary of State, and later became the statewide Chairman of the Republican Party.
Uncle Charlie loved people. He treated everyone with dignity and respect, and these are the values I will bring into the courtroom. With my deep and varied legal experience, I’m ready for a higher level of service.
I would be honored to serve as your Judge in Clark Circuit Court 6.
